Scott: You've done some work with hCG.
Cal Streeter: I use hCG regularly. I use it myself once a year.
Scott: Can you explain that a little bit?
Cal Streeter: Sure.
Scott: And how that works, and what people can see as a result?
Interviewee The hypothalamus produces leptin. Leptin tells our body cells to put calories into energy and muscle. When we get this fat pad around our midsection, all those receptors shut down.
hCG is human chorionic gonadotropin. All it does, it reprograms your body to use leptin, okay? The fellow that started it was a German doctor, a British doctor that was in India, right after the Second World War. And he was looking at the ladies who were having babies, and they were having fat babies and starving to death. That bothered him. He drew serum on those ladies and found out that they had a hormone that was just sky-high, that he called gonadotropic hormone. And he theorized that somehow, those ladies' fat deposits were given to those babies, and that hCG had something to do with that. To prove his point, the Indian boys were starving, just like the Indian ladies, they had fat bellies. He took some of the serum from those Indian ladies, gave it to those Indian boys, and their bellies went away.
He thought he had something great, he did. He opened a clinic in Italy, and for 30 years he treated the rich and the famous. Princess Diana was one of his patients. You've never seen any pictures of Princess Diana before she was 17 years old. She was a well-upholstered young lady before then. She went to him.
Scott: Mm-hmm.
Cal Streeter: Kevin Trudeau went to a clinic in Germany, over there someplace, and the fellow that he got hCG from, learned from this fella. Okay? He spent $20,000; went in for 60 days, I think. Went in at 235 lbs., came out 190 lbs., wrote the book, "The Weight Loss Cure They Won't Tell You About".
I met Kevin Trudeau seven years ago, and I was pretty impressed with him. He wanted me to do, I think he's speaking here this week maybe, he wanted me to get involved in weight loss. And I was reluctant to do so, because w hen I was an intern, everybody I saw in the weight loss business weighed 300 lbs. That's like coming and asking me to grow hair. Get out of here! No, and I resisted it.
Scott: Mm-hmm.
Cal Streeter: But I had a fellow come to me four years ago in September; he weighed 398 lbs. I said, I can't hurt this guy. So I called one of my pharmacist friends and I said, you got any hCG?' And he said, 'A matter of fact, I do.'
I said, 'Well, sell it to this guy at my cost for 45 days, and I'll give him a diet, and let's see what happens.' That was in September; and he came back in January, he weighed 291 lbs. I'm in the weight loss business. I've got over 2,000 people in weight loss now. They come in, I do a history on them. I don't charge any more for them; I just charge an office visit, and they get some nutrients. Dr. Trudeau recommends the nutrients, I recommend it to help them. And we've had success with it.
Scott: What else do you have to do on that? It's not a magic bullet.
Cal Streeter: I teach them food combining; I teach them what chemicals to stay away from. There are over 15,000 chemicals in our foods to deprogram us. Okay? To keep you from using leptin properly. If you don't stay away from those, and you don't learn food combining, forget about the rest. Okay?
Now, I do a detox; I have them do a liver detox; thisilyn cleanse, unless they've had their gall bladder out. If they've had their gall bladder out you don't give them Thisilyn cleanse. I nearly killed one of my friends doing that. You're detoxifying the liver, and if you've got a gall bladder out, you have a toxic liver; you've got a congested liver. I'll use Core Restore by OrthoMolecular on them. It's a gentler detox.
I use Myomin or Estraderm to block estradiol. We'll check their thyroid. I'll have them check their temperature. If their average temperature is below 97.5, they're thyroid deficient, and I'll use Armour Thyroid. I'm not using Armour now, I'm using Nature-Throid because Armour was taken off the market. When it came back it had corn in it. Okay? So, we've changed that a little bit.
And that's about what we do. I don't use the inch-and-a-half needle. If you want to use it, that's fine. I'm using little bitty insulin needles. I use 2/10s of a cc per day for 45 days on people that are, that's 200 units, on people that are under 200 lbs. If they're over 200 pounds I use 3/10's of a cc, which is 300 units.
Now, how does that--is there a danger to it? There using 10,000 units for infertility in one injection, so I guess it's not going to hurt.
Scott: Probably not.
Cal Streeter: Okay. I just tell my people, don't take a pregnancy test while you're taking it, because that's how we do pregnancy tests with hCG.
Scott: Oh, Okay.
Cal Streeter: You get a lady that's 40 or 45 years old, and she decides to do a pregnancy test, she gets awful excited! But I had, oh, 9 out of every 10 people lose weight.
Scott: Okay.
Cal Streeter: And they do well. Your energy goes up, your appetite goes down. You burn all this fat off your midsection. I like it.
Scott: Yeah.
Cal Streeter: I'm going to keep on doing it once a year as long as it's available. I've had no side effects from it; nobody's complained about it. You know, if you had side effects, every pregnant lady would have problems.
Scott: True.
Cal Streeter: But it works. I guess the only thing people complain about is, I don't charge enough. You know, I don't get involved in the charge of the pharmacy. I charge $50 for an office visit. And what they spend at the health food store, and they make arrangements with the pharmacy to pay for it. I've got a couple of pharmacies that sell it to them. I think it's $180 for 45 days.
It's the same thing that you can; up here in Chicago you can get $700 for the first visit and $20 a shot. I'm just not . . . I'm a Walmart and K-Mart guy, I'm not a Macy's and Marshall Fields, you know. And people appreciate that, I think.
Scott: Sure.
Cal Streeter: I'm a patient-oriented doctor. I know how I'd feel. And you get people that are overweight, a lot of them, they just not been taught, and they're willing to do what you ask them to do.
I've got a farmer that came to me. Shoot,he weighed . . .last time was in he said, 'If anybody told me I'd be under 250 lbs. again I'd have told them they were smoking something.' He was 247 the last time he was in.
He said, 'Get out of my way. I'm only 225, nobody's going to stop me.' He said, 'I'm off all my blood pressure medicine, I'm off all my blood sugar medicine. I've never felt better in my life, and I'm never going back up there again.'
If that's bad medicine, so be it. You know, I want to get people well. And ask anybody, visceral abdominal obesity (metabolic syndrome) is killing us, killing our nation!
When I was growing up, if you had one out of 10 that was obese, it was rare. If you've got one out of 10 that's not obese now, you're in trouble, we're in trouble. We're in trouble as a nation.
