Aubrey de Grey, PhD
Chief Science Officer, Co-founder SENS Research Foundation
Mr. Aubrey de Grey is a biomedical gerontologist based in Cambridge, UK as well as Mountain View, California.
Dr. de Grey earned his BA in 1985 and his Ph.D. in 2000, both from the University of Cambridge. He originally entered the field of computer science, but in the mid-90's, he switched to biogerentology. There his interests centered around identifying the side-effects of damage that comes from aging.
Dr. de Grey later developed a plan for repairing that damage from aging and created Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence, or SENS. That plan breaks down aging into seven major classes and addresses approaches to deal with each one.
