Dr. Barrie Tan earned his doctorate degree in Analytical Biochemistry at the University of Otago, New Zealand, doing his post-doctorate work at Auburn University in Alabama. He served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the Chemistry & Food Sciences Departments, authoring over 40 archival journal and technical papers. In 1998 he founded American River Nutrition, Inc.
