Joseph L. Evans, Ph.D., is Manager of Pharmacology and a Research Fellow for Stratum Nutrition, the Human Nutrition Division of Novus International in St. Charles, MO. Dr. Evans holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Drexel University. He received his post-doctoral training in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology and physiology at Dartmouth Medical School and the University of Copenhagen in Denmark.
Dr. Evans has co-founded and helped launch five different biotech and nutritional start-up companies. His research focuses on identifying and developing novel, safe and effective interventions for metabolic and inflammatory diseases. Dr. Evans has extensive expertise in the areas of natural product pharmacology, including antioxidants and polyphenolic compounds. Dr. Evans has published more than 40 original research papers, reviews and patents. In addition, he serves as a reviewer for more than 30 scientific journals.
