Interviewer: And I checked out your website before we talked. And you listed five basics for optimal health.
Dr. Darren Weissman: Yeah.
Interviewer: Give me those. Tell me what they are.
Dr. Darren Weissman: I call the five basics "the essential acts of self-love". And the five basics, or the essential acts of self-love are water, food, rest, exercise, and how we own our power. So it's the quantity and the quality, the frequency of the water we're drinking, the food we're eating, the sleep we're getting, the exercise, and how we're showing up in the present moment that make a big difference. That's our conscious action step, you know. Life is created by people that choose to take action.
But as we talked about, the conscious mind's the 2% to 10% mind. We've got another 90% to 98%. So when we can educate a person that it's just not about, "oh, let me just clean up the subconscious mind and then it's all dandy" and then I'll go back to eating Twinkies and drinking diet soda, it's not that. It's about understanding there are some basics, natural aspects of living in the world today that can really enhance our potential of physical and emotional and spiritual being.
And, you know, it's interesting. We talked a little bit about the, before this interview we talked about why there's so much information. What's the right eating program for him or her or this or that? You know, that's not always the easiest thing. There's no one way for everyone. There isn't. And so there are some basics though. Just like babies need to eat every couple of hours. If they don't they're crying and, you know.
And so we, you know, it's important to eat throughout the day. Just a small serving. This is a serving, you know, what fits in our paw. So having a serving of let it be raw food or protein or whatever it might be. Find what works for you. If something's not working be open to change. But I find so many people that don't get the five basics - are living on sugar, living on processed food, don't recognize how detrimental all the chemicals and GMOs that impact us in a very profound way, you know.
Simple wake ups to make big profound changes. Combine that with having a real understanding of the subconscious mind and an ability to really shift it intentionally. Wow. Somebody's equipped with great tools then.
