Making a Better Krill Oil

Interviewer: As a leading krill oil manufacturer, what makes that product different than other suppliers? 

Dr. Sigalit Zchut: Well, first of all, we're not just krill oil manufacturers. We're the manufacturers of lipid-based ingredients, and we have been doing that for over 10, 12 years. We have very high technological expertise in the field of lipid and lipid extraction. Actually, we also show that our krill oil, because it goes through a second purification step that we call MSO, multi-step extraction. We empty it from all kinds of pollutants and molecules that exist in other krill oil. These molecules that we remove help the krill be free from all kinds of main compounds like TMA and TBN which give krill oil the smell of spoiled fish, on one hand. On the other hand, it also helps to keep the krill oil steady and help the shelf life of many of the active components in the krill oil.

Interviewer: What are some of the things that you do with the krill oil? How does that impact the efficacy of the product?

Dr. Sigalit Zchut: Well, we actually just finished a clinical study. Even though I can't discuss in detail the results of the clinical study yet; they're confidential. I can say that we did test our krill oil versus fish oil and it's the first study that shows that krill oil, viability of EPA and DHA is much higher than fish oil. We show that in a way that nobody else showed it before. I believe that this has to do a lot with our krill oil.
