Interviewer: Doctor, you talk about emotion being so important when it comes to physical health. Can you explain the connection? I don't think a lot of people grasp that.

Dr. Darren Weissman: It's interesting. Emotion is related to physical health like a fish is related to water.

Interviewer: Okay.

Dr. Darren Weissman: We're so submerged, no pun intended, in our emotional reality that we don't even know it and from conception to puberty we are programmed with the emotion of the environment that we grow up in. In our mother's womb. How's my mom feeling as I'm developing in her womb?

Interviewer: Mm-hmm.

Dr. Darren Weissman: You know? What's her relationship with my dad and what's their relationship financially with the world, you know, so forth and so on. All the different steps along the way as we develop, are programmed in our subconscious mind with memories and beliefs and thought patterns that when these parts of ourselves get triggered almost like a Pavlovian condition response and for those people who have no idea, like, what did you say Dr. Darren. A Pavlovian condition response is where Pavlov's dog is. Well, he would ring a bell and the dog would salivate.

Interviewer: Mm-hmm.

Dr. Darren Weissman: And why would a dog salivate when it would hear a bell? And the reason was, well Pavlov starved that dog and then he showed him meat and rang a bell, showed him meat and rang a bell, rang a bell, didn't show him meat, the dog was conditioned to that bell to think that that bell had to do with eating when really it was just a conditioned response. We are emotionally conditioned from conception to puberty. Our brain is in what's called a Theta wave brain state. And that Theta wave brain state is the same brain state as when you're in a hypnotic state. So we're literally from conception to puberty, mostly conception to six, but up to conception to puberty is when the cement is soft is all the emotions of our environment get downloaded. We don't have a choice into us. So here we are later in life and we here a bell. That bell might be the color blue, because at four years of age and the environment where my parents were fighting and there was blue curtains. Well, that blue triggers my heart rate increasing, my immune system going down, my digestion being in the state of four years of age in that environment of anger. Our brains and our bodies don't know the difference between memories and reality. Or imagination for that matter. So when these parts of ours get triggered, rather than being in the present moment, and in the present moment the body can adapt to just about anything . . .

Interviewer: Mm-hmm.

Dr. Darren: . . . it really can. It's pretty incredible. The body is  brilliant at being a self-healing organism. But when the subconscious emotions that had been programmed get triggered then our body begins to speak. So we talk about, oh, what's the relationship with, long story short, what's the relationship with emotion to our physical health, everything. If you're suffering with headaches. If you're suffering with digestive challenges. Immune challenges. One of the things that I would really encourage you to do is just to be open to ask yourself, well what part of me is being triggered right now? The thing about it is, you're not going to know. You're not going to know. Because nobody knows within the subconscious mind. If they did, it wouldn't be called the subconscious mind. It would be the conscious mind. So what I teach is a technology called a lifeline technique so that you can immediately discover what emotional patterns, memories, limiting beliefs are stored in that subconscious template. How to guide them so that you can be here now. You can be here now. You can live in the present moment and thus increase the optimal potential, whether is be the physical health, the emotional health, how you live your life.
